About The Program
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) at WIUHMS is a four-year professional degree designed to produce highly competent, compassionate, and globally competitive nurses. The programme integrates biomedical sciences, nursing theory, clinical practice, leadership, research, and community health, preparing graduates to deliver holistic, evidence-based care across all levels of the healthcare system.
Curriculum Structure
Year 1
Basic Medical Sciences (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Communication Skills)
Year 2
Foundations of Nursing, Pharmacology, Pathology, Nutrition
Year 3
Medical-Surgical Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Maternal & Child Health
Year 4
Community Health Nursing, Critical Care, Nursing Leadership, Research Project.
Duration : 4 Years ( 8 Semesters )
Entry Requirements :
- KCSE Mean Grade C+
- C+ in Biology
- C+ in Chemistry
- C in Physics/Physical Sciences
- C in Mathematics
- C+ in Languages ( English / Swahili )
International Applicants: Equivalent high school qualification with strong passes in Biology, Chemistry, and English. Proof of English proficiency where applicable (IELTS/TOEFL or equivalent).

- Teaching hospital rotations
- Community health attachments
- Specialized units (ICU, Theatre, Maternity, Pediatrics, Psychiatry)
- Simulation laboratories and skills labs.
