To All Applicants
Certificate Programmes
- KCSE Mean Grade of C- (Minus) or equivalent international qualification.
- Minimum C- in English or Kiswahili.
- Minimum C- or D+ in Biology / Biological Sciences (required for most programmes).
- Minimum D+ or D in Mathematics, Physics / Physical Sciences, or Chemistry (varies slightly by programme).
- For specific examples like Nutrition & Dietetics: Slightly higher baseline (KCSE C mean + C in English/Kiswahili + D+ in Biology + C- in Chemistry or Home Science), but C- is the dominant entry point.
- International applicants: Equivalent qualifications with strong passes in relevant sciences + proof of English proficiency if needed (e.g., IELTS/TOEFL).
Diploma Programmes
- KCSE Mean Grade of C (Plain) or equivalent international qualification.
- Minimum C in English or Kiswahili.
- Minimum C or C- in Biology / Biological Sciences.
- Minimum C- or D+ in Chemistry, Physics / Physical Sciences, or Mathematics (varies by programme).
- Exception for Nutrition & Dietetics: KCSE C- mean + D+ in Biology + D+ in Chemistry or Home Science + C- in English/Kiswahili.
- International applicants: Equivalent qualifications evaluated for equivalence + proof of English proficiency where applicable.
Undergraduate Programmes
- KCSE Mean Grade of C+ (Plus) to B+ (depending on the specific programme) or equivalent international qualification.
- Minimum C+ in English or Kiswahili
- KCSE C+ mean + C+ in Biology / Biological Sciences + C+ in Chemistry + C in Mathematics or Physics / Physical Sciences
- For higher-tier clinical programmes (e.g., MBChB, BDS): KCSE B+ mean + B+ in Biology, Chemistry, Physics / Physical Sciences + strong pass in Mathematics or English/Kiswahili.
- For Pharmacy (BPharm): KCSE B mean + B in Biology, Chemistry + B in Mathematics or Physics.
- International applicants: Equivalent high school qualifications with strong passes in Biology, Chemistry, and other sciences + proof of English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL or equivalent) if applicable.
Postgraduate Programmes
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class Honours (Lower Division) or equivalent.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant professional/clinical practice experience (required or strongly preferred for most programmes, e.g., clinical registration for MSc Clinical Medicine).
- Current professional registration with the relevant regulatory body (where applicable, especially for clinical/public health fields).
- For programmes like MSc Biostatistics or Biomedical Research: Strong background in mathematics, statistics, biology, or related research methods.
- International applicants: Equivalent bachelor's qualifications evaluated + proof of English proficiency if the prior degree was not in English.
